wage (n) – salary, money that is paid regularly for doing work

wage (v) – to carry on, to continue (specifically wars, battles or campaigns)

Examples:

1. The wages of the employees are released at the end of every month.

2. The candidates waged their campaigns until the end of the campaign period.

3. The soldiers were determined to wage the battle until their strengths ran out.
