yearn (v) – desire strongly, have a desire for something or someone who is not present

yearner (n) – a person with a strong desire for something

Examples:

1. She has been working abroad for quite a long time. She is yearning to see her family.

2. My friend is a yearner for knowledge.

3. The little homeless child stared yearningly at the famous restaurant.
